APPG Release First Annual Report

22nd September 2021 | Reports

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Funerals and Bereavement, of which the Federation is a member and was represented by Brendan Day, launched its Annual Report on the 6th September at Westminster.

The meeting was attended by interested MP’s and Peers.

This report also shines a light on the impact of COVID-19 on bereaved people: the isolation felt
by many families, unable to be supported at the funeral by their loved ones or communities;
the unresolved grief of those unable to attend a funeral due to restrictions; and the inability,
particularly in the early months of the pandemic, of families to carry out important funeral
rituals and customs.
