New Scottish Regulations

26th February 2019 | News Regulations/Legislation Scotland

Further to the newsletter circulated on 19th January 2019, our team are happy to confirm that the new regulations, under the 2016 Act, have passed further parliamentary scrutiny and will come into force on 4th April 2019.

The Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee considered the regulations on 15th January.

Following this, the Health and Sport Committee considered the regulations on 22nd January. Joe FitzPatrick MSP, Minister for Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing, attended this meeting and answered questions from committee members on the new cremation regulations. Both Committees passed the draft regulations in full.

Training

As highlighted in the December newsletter, if you wish for your organisation or authority to receive training or further information on the new regulations concerning cremation and arrangements (pregnancy loss and stillbirth), please get in touch with our team via [email protected]. We will be contacting those who have already expressed an interest in the coming weeks to share materials and arrange meetings where requested.
